- Daughter of Bryan Dennis WALKLEY and Marjorie Antoinette (Toni) WALKLEY (nee Swan), second child of two, born Wanganui- 16 December 1963. Elder sibling BRUCE MICHAEL WALKLEY.
Attended pre-school in Castlecliff Wanganui before family relocated to Auckland in 1967, after a 6 month stay in Brisbane, Australia.
Educated at Manuka Rd Primary School, Forest Hill Primary School, St Thomas' Primary School, Epsom Girls Grammar School.
Worked in the NZ banking sector for 4 years, Auckland.
Married Ron Robert Tiria at Pacific Islander's Presbyterian Church, Newton Auckland on 15 December 1984.
Ron Tiria- born Auckland 1957 of Cook Island ethnicity, schooled Richmond Rd Primary School, Mt Albert Boys Grammar. Worked and trained as a Locomotive Assistant Engineer for 8 years in Auckland.
Moved together to Australia in 1985, residing in Perth, Alice Springs, Uluru (Ayers Rock), Kakadu National Park and Darwin until 2007. Both worked in Australian hospitality and tourism industries, then operated a fitness centre for 6 years before returning to NZ.
During Australian years travelled extensively for 4 years around Nth, Central & Sth America, Europe, Africa, Asia and the Pacific.
Son,Tor, born Darwin, Australia 10 August 1993. Schooled Larrakeyah Primary School, Darwin & currently attending Taupo Nui a Tia College,Taupo.
Family residing in Taupo since 2007, managing family motel business.
Sue & Ron; qualified Personal Trainers, Group Exercise Instructors and Fitness Leaders.
Ron was NZ Tae Kwon Do Champion 1979 & 1980, Silver medalist at the World Tae Kwon Do Championships 1979, Bronze medalist at Australian University Games 1998.
Tor was a Junior Australian State Cricket Representative and club team were state champions in 2005 & 2006. Combined Schools State Champion in discus and shot-put in 2005 & 2006. Tor is also a keen drummer and snow boarder.
Sue is a keen runner and Ron and Sue are both keen cyclists.
