Notes - Ronald Jefferies Walkley, second son of Sidney Stanley Walkley, and Ethel Lowe Brewster, and fourth in a family of ten children, was born in Hamua on 3 May 1912.
He received his education at Hamua Primary School. Queen's Park School,
Wanganui and Junction School, Marton.
On 22 April 1935 he was married to Catherine Mary Winstanley (Kitty) at St Stephen's Church, Marton. Kitty emigrated to New Zealand from England with her parents and sister Rita, arriving in Wellington on 17 March 1920.
Ron and Kitty had four children, Ronald William, Bryan Dennis, Beverley Joan and a baby who died at birth.
Ron became a builder and ran a successful building firm in Wanganui for many years, where he trained both his sons Bill and Bryan.
Ron and Kitty lived in Castlecliff Wanganui for many years, before moving to Matamata in 1969, and then finally moving to live in Glenfield, Auckland in 1978. Kitty Died in Auckland on March the 2nd 1980.
Ron continued to live in Glenfield until his death on the 26th March 1985
