- Garry Warwick Roberts, Marion's second son was born 2nd June 1949 and like his brother Graeme attended Wesley Primary and Intermediate Schools, and later Lynfield College. Garry's sporting interest was hockey, representing his College in the Hockey team, and playing for several years at Club level.
He joined the firm of Auckland Typographical Services Ltd, printers, and completed his apprenticeship.
In 1970, when he was 21 he sailed to the UK on his OE. He travelled extensively overseas where he met and married his wife Josephine Ann Parks. He was married in Loughton, Essex, on 21st August 1971.
Two years later they returned to New Zealand and they settled down in Auckland and had a family, Kerrin Kayne and Nikki Antoinette.
In 1975 Gary and Jo decided to build their own home in the Auckland suburb of Titirangi. So off went Gary, to take a few lessons with the local builders, and one year later they shifted into their brand new pole home, built entirely by themselves. Gary did not stop his building antics there, a few years later he and Jo decided to build a spec home in New Lynn. Gary has always been very artistic and went on to design yet another home, which was built by a friend of his. In the early 90?s they bought some land in the suburb of Lynfield and sold their Titirangi home and built a new home on their newly acquired piece of land where they remain today.
Of course, his main artistic flair was his art. He has painted since childhood as a hobby and in 2005 after working for the NZ Herald for over 30 years as a graphic artist and printer, decided it was time he became professional, so embarked on a full time career as a Professional Artist. His works have been sent and greatly admired all over the world, and exhibited in many galleries in New Zealand. Gary's art work can be viewed on www.garywroberts.vc.net.nz
Amongst his other achievements was his Private Pilots Licence.
