Notes - I lived in Malaya from 1960-1962 and surveyed jungle areas to be made into rubber and oil palm plantations for landless Malays to own and work.The schemes were very successful and now turn over $300million Malay per year.
Eleven other NZ surveyors were in the scheme and in 2007 we were invited back to look at the development and were presented with medals from the Malay government.
