  Charles was born on the 9th July in 1809 at Horsley, Gloucestershire, England. He had an older sister Sally [9 September 1804], an older brother William [born 2nd March 1806] and a younger brother Samuel [born 3rd January 1814] He married Jane Watts on the 11 April 1831. Charles became a weaver working in one of the mills in Horsley, Gloucestershire. About the year 1850 Charles married his 2nd wife Sarah and they had two children. 1841 CENSUS Charles was listed as a weaver at 30 years of age; Jane Walkley was 35 and Henry at 9 was surprisingly was listed as a "Cloth Worker".
