Notes - Died aet. 71 - Alvin's chart. Owned Peatling Hall - Diaries 16Ma61. Map 66, 5994, perhaps 5889, cf 14 Mar61
- There was also one child (of #1239) who died in infancy. [4]
- 'Alice Ann Gertrude and Henry Christopher who died aged 8 months were by his 2nd wife Emma Smith. He had a futher 2(illigitimate by his housekeeper Miss Thompson. I think they lived in Torkquay where John might have died. I am going tolook into this.'
- Chisteen Weir [4] - Listed in the 1851 census at 101 Hanover St, age 22, occupation Land Surveyor. He is the "Head" of the family and 7 of the Clarke children (aged from 20 to 7) were living in the same household (including Charles Septimus Clarke). Also an Alice Beatley? aged 44, Ann ?? aged 35 and Elizabeth ??, who I'm guessing were servants.
(Raewyn) - Sanders not Saunders.
- Peatling Hall Estate was purchased by "T.S. Clarke, Esq. of the Hague, near Chesterfield, son of the late J. Clarke, Esq. of New Parks" in 1860 according to the Leicester Chronicle (March 3, 1860).
This seems almost certainly a misprint for "J.S. Clarke", ie. John Sanders Clarke.
