Mrs McCarthy, mother of the bride, was dressed in silver gray poplin, handsomely trimmed, and wore a black hat trimmed with black and white ostrich feathers. The gift of the bridegroom to the bride was a valuable gold brooch, and to the bridesmaids gold and silver brooches. The wedding breakfast was laid at the residence of Mr Robert Hooper (brother of the bridegroom), and there were a large number of guests.
